Ethereum Layer-2 Scaling Solution Arbitrum to Launch This Month – Tech Bitcoin News

Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer-2 (L2) scaling solution, announced that it will launch its mainnet for users this August. The tool, which allows Ethereum users to transact with very low fees, was launched in beta version last June, with support from some of the major projects in the Ethereum space, such as Uniswap, who have tried to integrate it. received a community vote for The project will also launch Arbitrum One, which will have up-to-date information on projects using its network.

Arbitrum to launch this August

an intermediary?Ethereum L2 Rollup has announced that it will be launch This month in mainnet beta, opening its service to regular users who want to release projects using the scaling solution. So far, Arbitrum was operating in a kind of sandbox, with over 250 projects using applications to build optimistic Rollup Technique. Arbitrum will allow users to transact almost instantly with negligible fees, with the aim of targeting mass adoption.

Offchain Labs, the company behind the Arbitrum project, says it was very difficult to determine the launch of its rollup, coordinating launch and deployment with multiple projects including stablecoin companies in the process. It states:

There were several things we had to consider when deciding when to launch. We have worked hard over the past few months to coordinate deployments with hundreds of projects and bridge many of the most popular stablecoins and tokens on Arbitrum.

However, it will not be launched at full capacity yet. Offchain Labs said that although the network will be available to all users, they will place “initial limits on the amount of activity,” with a commitment to increasing these limits over time as their solution matures.

optimistic rollup

Technically, Arbitrum is a rollup, a type of second layer scaling structure, that posts information as proof of these operations, while performing its functions outside of Ethereum’s L1 network. Arbitrum is one of the first optimistic commercial rollup solutions. This means that the network assumes that the operation is always honest and does not perform any calculations to prove it is correct. There are safeguards in place to penalize the issuer when a potentially fraudulent operation is conducted.

Arbitrum was recently chosen by Reddit to set up its community points system. However, this is not the only optimistic rollup solution in development. optimism, another similar L2 rollup, is also currently in the testing stages. Uniswap has also introduced integration with Optimism, allowing users to transact their funds. door on its site.

Arbitrum also faces competition from scaling solutions polygon (matic). While Polygon is more of a sidechain solution, both Arbitrum and Optimism leverage optimistic rollup.
